PROGRAM

Day 01 YOUR COUNTRY - SANTIAGO DEL CHILE
International flights not included

Day 02 WELCOME TO SANTIAGO
Morning pick up from Santiago airport. Free activity day. Overnight stay at the 4 star Atton Hotel or an alternative hotel of the same category. (D)

Day 03 SANTIAGO - PUERTO MONTT - PUERTO VARAS
Breakfast in the hotel. Private transfer to the airport. Flight to Puerto Montt. Pick up from the airport and transfer to the enchanting city of Puerto Varas. Short tour of the city and visit to the craft market. Overnight stay at the 4 star Bellavista Hotel or an alternative hotel of the same category.

Day 04 PUERTO VARAS - PUERTO MONTT - ANCUD - CASTRO
In the morning we head to the port of Pargua where we take a ferry across the Chacao Channel to Chiloè Island (30 min.). First stop will be Ancud, and if possible we will visit Puñihuil Island, where you will have a close up sighting of two types of Penguins, the only place in Chile where both the Magellano and the Humboldt Penguins nest. We then travel south towards the city of Castro, where the houses are built on stilts. Overnight stay at the 3 star Hosteria de Castro or an alternative hotel of the same category (B, L). Day 05 CASTRO- DALCAHUE- ACHAO- QUINCHAO - PUERTO VARAS
During the second day on Chiloè Island we travel towards Dalcahue where a vibrant craft market is held every Sunday morning. After visiting the market we take a ferry to Quinchao Island where we will visit the antique village of Curaco de Velez and the enchanting town of Achao. This part of Chiloè is famous for its wool work and handy-craft in general and is home to 16 churches, all declared UNESCO world heritage sites. In the afternoon we leave the island and return to Puerto Varas. Overnight stay at the 4 star Bellavista Hotel or an alternative hotel of the same category (B, L). Dinner not included.

Day 06 PUERTO VARAS - BARILOCHE
In the morning we head towards the Argentinean border, travelling along the shores of Lake Puyehue and then we pay a visit to the magical town of Villa Angostura. We then visit the city of San Carlos de Bariloche, a tourist attraction both during the summer and winter months. Overnight stay at the 3 star Kenton Hotel or an alternative hotel of the same category (B, L). Dinner not included.

Day 07 BARILOCHE - EL BOLSÓN
A day exploring the best of this area: lakes, forests, peaks and footpaths through the undergrowth. Opportunity to take a short walk (the guide will decide where it is best to go depending on weather conditions and the group preferences). Afternoon transfer to El Bolsón. Overnight stay in 3 star hotel. (B, L). Dinner not included.

Day 08 EL BOLSÓN - PUYUHUAPI
We travel south towards Chile via the Futaleufú Pass. The road we take to get to Puyuhuapi is astonishingly beautiful, lined with woods and glaciers and with the Cordigliera delle Ande in the distance. We get to Rio Unión in the early evening and take a boat at 19.00 to get to the lodge. Overnight stay at the Puyuhuapi Lodge & Spa. (Br, Lu) Dinner not included.

Day 09 PUYUHUAPI LODGE & SPA
This luxurious Lodge has a number of footpaths that allow you to take magical walks in the surrounding countryside. You can also visit the majestic Queulat National Park where you can see its stupendous hanging glacier (“ventisquero colgante”). On return to the Lodge you can relax in the hydromassage pool, in the thermal water jacuzzi, in the spring water pools or in the sauna. Then you will be ready for a session of telassotherapy (seaweed treatment) or a regenerative massage. Overnight stay at the Puyuhuapi Lodge & Spa. (B, L) Dinner not included.

Day 10  PUYUHUAPI- LAGUNA SAN RAFAEL- PUERTO CHACABUCO
Crossing the austral fjords in a catamaran is an unmissable experience. THE PATAGONIA EXPRESS takes you to the San Rafael Lagoon. The voyage starts at 07:00 and lasts approximately 6 hours. From the catamaran you can admire the limpid waters and the majesty of the Cordigliera delle Ande, enveloped in exuberant forest. And if we are lucky we might even see some dolphins! We cross a number of channels before we reach the San Rafael Lagoon, where we see the magnificent glacier. After a couple of hours in the lagoon the catamaran heads towards Puerto Chacabuco (arrival expected at 22:30). Transfer to Puerto Aysen (15 km) and overnight stay at the Patagonia Green Bungalows or alternative accommodation of the same category. (B, L, D)

Day 11  PUERTO CHACABUCO - BALMACEDA - SANTIAGO
Morning transfer to Balmaceda Airport. Flight to Santiago with one stop. Arrive in the early evening. Transfer to the Atton Hotel or an alternative hotel of the same category.

Day 12  SANTIAGO - VALPARAISO - VIÑA DEL MAR
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we depart for Valparaiso, 120km from Santiago, a commercial port and stop off point for many cruise ships. The road to Valparaiso takes us through the “hermosa” Casablanca valley, famous for its white wines. We reach Valparaíso - a UNESCO world heritage site – with its blend of history and modernity, set in a large bay with a backdrop of high mountain peaks. The city climbs up the hillside, criss-crossed by streets, alleyways, steps and passages (the characteristic cerros and ascensores). There'll be a tour of the main tourist sites (You can visit to the house of the poet Pablo Neruda on request) and then we continue towards the coast and arrive at Viña del Mar, Chile’s most famous seaside resort. Return to Valparaiso. Overnight stay at the San Martin Hotel or an alternative hotel of the same category at Viña del Mar ( B)

Day 13    VIÑA DEL MAR - SANTIAGO
Breakfast at the hotel. Free activity day. Return to Santiago late in the afternoon. Check-in and overnight stay at the 4 star Atton Hotel or an alternative hotel of the same category (B)

Day 14    SANTIAGO - ITALY
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Santiago airport. International Flights not included
