This programme takes you to two of the most fascinating and mysterious open air museums in the world – home to the most important archeological treasures on the planet: the remote and magical Easter Island and Peru – an extraordinary country that combines history and mythology. An itinerary for anyone who wants to make a truly unforgettable journey.

Day 01 YOUR COUNTRY - LIMA

Day 02 BIENVENIDOS A LIMA
On your arrival in Lima you will be picked up from the airport by one of our representatives who will take you to your hotel. Check-in at the hotel and chance to look through your holiday documentation – including a detailed itinerary of your stay. Afternoon tour of the city to give you an opportunity to admire its fine colonial architecture. The tour starts at “Plaza Mayor or Damero de Pizarro”, where you can see the “ Palacio de Gobierno” – the government palace, the “Cabildo” - the cathedral built by the Spanish in pure baroque style in the 17th century, and the “ Palacio Arzobispal” – the archbishop’s palace. We then visit the Miraflores district and the “Parco dell’ Amore” – the park of love, an excellent spot from where you can take in a fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean. The tour ends with a visit to Lancomar, a beautiful shopping centre that faces the Pacific Ocean. Overnight stay at the Casa Andina Lima Hotel or a similar hotel of the same category.

Day 03 LIMA - NAZCA
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the bus terminal from where we take a bus from Lima to Nazca. Pick up at the bus station in Nazca and transfer to your hotel. Flight over the incredible Nazca Lines carved into the dry desert terrain of the Nazca Pampas. These astonishing geoglyphs cover an enormous area – extending 80 kilometres from the City of Nazca to the City of Palpa. Over 13,000 lines make up 800 images – including the stylised profiles of animals: a whale, a parrot, a 180 metre long lizard, a humming bird, a condor and an enormous 45 metre long spider. These images were carved out during the height of the Nazca Civilisation, between 300 BC and 500 AD. Return to the hotel. Day 04 NAZCA - LIMA
Breakfast at the hotel. Half day archaeological tour of Nazca. Transfer to the bus station. Bus from Nazca to Lima. Pick up from the bus station and transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay at the Casa Andina Lima Hotel or a similar hotel of the same category. (B)

Day 05 LIMA - CUZCO - SACSAYHUAMAN
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Flight to Cuzco. Pick up at the airport and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon we visit the imperial city, a classic example of the union between the Andean and Spanish cultures. The tour starts at the “Santo Domingo” Convent, built on the ruins of Koricancha, the antique Incan palace and main centre for the worship of the Sun God. The next stop is the “Plaza de Armas”, where you can visit the Cathedral and the beautiful church of “La Compañía”. Our tour continues to the Sacsayhuamán Fort with its imposing Incan military architecture – a building that dominates the city. Last stop is the archaeological sites of Qenko, Puca-Pucará and Tambomachay to the northeast of Cusco. Day 06 VALLE SAGRADO DE LOS INCAS/PISAC & OLLANTAYTAMBO
Transfer to the “Valle Sagrado de los Incas” on the road to Pisac. The journey we take us to the valley of the “Río Urubamba” that winds it way through cultivated fields. At Pisac you will have the chance to visit the colourful craft market where you can meet the local people and buy some beautiful local craftwork. The journey then continues to Urubamba where we will have a buffet lunch in a “hacienda” style restaurant. After lunch we visit Ollantaytambo, a stunning Incan settlement characterised by its canals and paved streets. Visit to Temple Hill, an impressive ceremonial complex dedicated to the cult of water and a fort that protects access tot he lower part of the valley. Return to Cuzco. Overnight stay in the San Agustin Monasterio de la Recoleta Hotel or a similar hotel of the same category. (B, L)

Day 07 CUZCO - MACHU PICCHU
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the train station. Visit to one of the most important archaeological sites in the world - Machu Picchu. The journey is by train – from which you will savour the amazing scenery of the Sacred Urubamba Valley. On your arrival in “Aguas Calientes”, you will be met by one of our agents who will help you take the bus to Machu Picchu. An unforgettable journey accompanied by one of our expert guides who will tell you stories of this enchanted and mysterious place. After a guided tour of the site you will have time to explore on your own. At the time fixed by the group return to Aguas Calientes. Lunch included. We recommend a night out on the town to enjoy the “cusqueña” nightlife. Overnight stay at the Casa Andina Koricancha Cusco Hotel or a similar hotel of the same category (B. L)

Day 08 CUZCO - PUNO
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure for Puno, a trip through the Andean highlands and one that will allow you to admire the alpacas and lamas grazing in their natural habitat. The journey will take us through typical villages set in this magnificent scenery with the Andes as their stunning backdrop. Lunch in a typical local restaurant. After eight hours of travelling through this breathtaking Andean landscape we arrive at Puno and transfer to the Casa Andina Plaza Puno Hotel. (B, L)

Day 09 LAKE TITICACA - THE FLOATING ISLANDS OF UROS & TAQUILE
Trip to Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world – at an altitude of 3,812 metres. Visit to “Las Islas Flotantes de los Uros” (the Floating Islands of Uros). These islands made of the local totora reed are home to the Uros people and are an important centre of commerce for the local people who get around on hand made rafts. The trip then takes you to the island of Taquile, where we will be welcomed by the local community, famous for their friendly hospitality. The people of this island have managed to keep alive their customs and traditions and still dress in fantastic colours. These people are able craftsmen and shape objects with impressive skill learnt over the centuries.Overnight stay at the Casa Andina Plaza Puno Hotel (B)
Day 10 PUNO - LIMA - SANTIAGO
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Flight to Lima. Connecting flight to Santiago. Pick up at the airport and transfer to the 4 star airport Holiday Inn or a similar hotel of the same category. (B)

Day 11 SANTIAGO - EASTER ISLAND
Breakfast at the hotel. Flight to Easter Island where you will be greeted with garlands of flowers and taken to the Otai Hotel or a similar hotel of the same category. (B)

Day 12 EASTER ISLAND
Group day trip. First stop is the Haga Te’e Bay on the south of the island – where you will see your first “Ahu” – one of the enormous stone platforms built to support the Moai. The Vaihu Ahu is an unrestored platform. The tour continues towards the Ahu Akahanga Region where legend has it that the famous King Hotu Matua is buried at one side of the Ahu. The tour takes in several other important cultural sites on the Island – for example Rano Raraku – where 900 statues have been sculpted – 397 of them lying horizontally on the ground. We will also visit the Tongariki Ahu, restored in 1995, a platform that holds 15 Moai. We then visit the “Ombligo del Mundo" (Belly button of the world), and the Te Pito Kura Ahu. Our final stop for the day is Anakena Beach and its two restored platforms, Ahu Nau Nau and Ahu Ature Huki. From this magical spot we can admire the waters of the Pacific Ocean and rest for a while in the shade of the palm trees. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay at the Otai Hotel or a similar hotel of the same category. (B, PL)

Day 13 HANGA ROA- RANO KAU VAOLCANO - ORONGO
Breakfast at the hotel. Group tour for half the day. The tour takes you up to Rano Kau, an extinct volcano from where you can take in the beauty of the whole Island: its coasts, its volcanoes and the village of Hanga Roa. We can also admire the volcano’s crater, with its lagoon. We then start to make our way back to the hotel, stopping off at the traditional ceremonial village of Orongo, where in the past they used to host the Tangata Manu (Bird Man) ceremony. We then visit the Vinapu Ahu with its pre-Incan style of architecture. The tour ends in the Ana Kai Tangata Cave where you can see some traditional rock paintings. Free activity afternoon – you can visit the village of Hanga Roa or take one of the optional tours (*): horse ride up to the Terevaka Volcano from where you can enjoy views of the whole island. Overnight stay at the Otai Hotel or similar hotel of the same category. (B)

Day 14 EASTER ISLAND - SANTIAGO
Transfer to the airport. Flight to Santiago. Pick up at the airport and transfer to the 4 star Atton el Bosque Hotel or a similar hotel of the same category. (B)

Day 15 SANTIAGO – YOUR COUNTRY
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your return flight (B)
